Dr. Sorensen performs mini tummy tucks on the men and women of Idaho who do not need to undergo a full abdominoplasty. Like a full tummy tuck, a mini abdominoplasty tightens loose and sagging skin that is resistant to diet and exercise. The ideal candidates for mini tummy tucks are patients who are in good shape, have a relatively good skin tone, but still have an unwanted pooch in their midsection. Dr. Sorensen will consult with his patients to determine which variation of a tummy tuck works best for their desired results.
"Dr. Sorensen’s work is AMAZING! I trusted his extensive expertise, and I could not be more pleased!"- J. / Google / Jan 01, 2018
"Everything about my process and procedure from start to finish was exceptional! Dr. Sorensen and the staff are friendly and professional. I felt valued by the way I was listened to and the treatment I received. Dr. Sorensen and his staff never made me wait, answered all my questions right away, and returned text/phone calls in a timely fashion. I had a breast revision after having 6 pregnancies and I was a little concerned that my breasts were not going to look as good as my first augmentation. Well I am happy to report they look amazing!! Dr. Sorensen gave me results that far exceed anything I was able to dream up before surgery. A lot of people were telling me to go out of state to get better results… well I am extremely satisfied, and I didn’t have to travel, got to stay in the comfort of my home after, and didn’t have to spend the extra money to travel. Stay here… Dr. Sorensen is the way to go!!!"- A.T. / Google / Mar 31, 2018
"I had a procedure in 1 week ago (implant removal), and after having evaluations with several other doctors, I felt very comfortable with Dr Sorensen. I was very impressed with the courtesy, professionalism, efficiency and the overall quality of providers and nurses who work with Dr Sorensen and the rest of the surgical team, but most importantly the skill of Dr Sorensen. I am pleasantly surprised with my results, one week post op and the expediency of my healing process and mild level of associated pain. I highly recommend Dr Sorensen to anyone looking for a surgeon dedicated to excellence."- A.F. / Google / Mar 13, 2018
"Was very impressed with Dr. Sorensen, his office and staff. They were very competent and professional in every way."- D.R. / Google / Feb 12, 2018
"I saw Dr. Sorensen for a breast reduction. I have struggled with thoracic spine and neck pain as a result of having large breast. I was very confident after my initial consultation that a reduction would give me some relief from the daily pain I had been struggling with. Dr. Sorensen and his staff were amazing through the whole process. They worked with my insurance company to make sure I would be covered for the procedure and took the time to answer all of my questions before and after my procedure. Dr. Sorensen saw me often after my surgery to make sure I was healing well. I am so thankful I was able to have this procedure. It has been life changing and I am grateful for such a knowledgeable Dr. and amazing medical staff to get me through it."- A.P. / Google / Feb 11, 2018
The technique used for a mini tummy tuck is similar to that of full abdominoplasty. However, with a mini version the incision is much smaller and the area addressed will be just under the belly button. Liposuction is usually used during this procedure to remove excess fat. The excess skin that remains will be pulled tight so that the tummy has a new toned, flat appearance. In most cases, the belly button is unaffected. Scarring, while it does exist, is minimal and is easily concealed under a bathing suit or under garments.
A mini tummy tuck is performed under general anesthesia in an accredited surgical facility and typically takes around 1-2 hours to complete. The recovery generally takes about 4-6 weeks; this is when clearance to resume exercise is usually given. No longer forced to “suck it in”, patients love their results and feel that their abdomens look and feel more toned and fit. The results following a mini tummy tuck are considered permanent unless a pregnancy or significant weight gain occurs, both of which could compromise the results of the surgery.
Abdominoplasty continues to be a popular choice for men and women seeking flatter, tighter stomachs following weight loss and pregnancy. Because a mini tummy tuck is a less extensive surgery than a full abdominoplasty, the cost will be a little less. Most patients can expect to pay between $6,400-$7,500 for a mini tummy tuck.

Mini Tummy Tuck FAQS
Can't I Just Have Lipo?
For mini tummy tuck patients, liposuction alone may be a possibility. Liposuction is a procedure that removes fat only. It is a good surgery choice for patients who have good skin tone and tight abdominal muscles. However, it will not benefit those who have sagging skin. When a patient comes to see us for the first time, we will work together to learn the patient’s aesthetic goals and review the procedures that might help meet those goals. For some, even a little hanging skin may warrant a mini tummy tuck.
Women who have had a C-section will typically have a scar that runs horizontally in the lower abdomen. During a mini tummy tuck, an incision will be made very close to the C-section incision. Once the loose skin is trimmed away and the area is pulled tight, the two incisions are essentially combined into one which will allow for only one scar to remain. This scar will still be located in an area that will be hidden by undergarments and a bathing suit bottom.
What if I get Pregnant?
Abdominoplasty surgery should probably be delayed until after all pregnancies have been completed. The goal of a tummy tuck procedure is to tighten the abdominal wall. Getting pregnant after a tummy tuck may spoil the surgical results.
